A defensible competitive strategy for your own market, developed, pitched, and pressure-tested by an LSE expert, and ready for you to share in your next board or strategy meeting.

2

Practical frameworks that move beyond broad discussions on AI to determine how AI is reshaping competition in your industry, whether established players or AI-native challengers are better placed, and what opportunities and risks exist.

Course Convenor

Dr Antonio Cordella

Associate Professor of Management, LSE
Dr Antonio Cordella is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Visiting Professor at the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance, UNU-MERIT, in the Netherlands.
His most recent research examines how algorithmic systems and AI work and reshape organisations and decision-making, with a particular focus on how these technologies reconfigure – rather than simply replace – human judgement, producing consequential yet often invisible structural effects on strategy, operations, and outcomes.
He advises international organisations, senior leaders, and executives on the strategic use and adoption of digital technologies and AI, helping organisations navigate the organisational, ethical, and governance challenges that accompany digital transformation.
He teaches courses on digital transformation and AI for business and has published widely in information systems, digital governance, and technology-driven organisational reform. An Italian national, he holds an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Bologna, Italy, and a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

This course is for you if you are:

A leader, executive, consultant, founder, or investor who is navigating AI-driven competition and responsible for making decisions in response to shifting competitive dynamics, in any industry. No technical background or prior study in AI or data science is required.

This includes:

  • Strategy and business-unit leaders; commercial, marketing, product and go-to-market leaders; general managers in established firms facing AI-native competition; and executives and business owners – professionals who are being asked whether an AI-native competitor can take their market and need to know whether their organisation’s moat – or current competitive advantage – is real or imaginary.

This course is also tailored for professionals in the following roles:

  • Management consultants and strategy advisers; founders; investors; and senior specialists – those who need to advise on AI exposure but aren’t able to judge their advantage and don’t have a defensible framework to show their reasoning to their clients or investment committee.
