Understand how digitisation creates new, and disrupts existing, business models, and how businesses can deal with disruptive trends.

Technological change and the future of work

Examine how automation, robotics, and AI are destroying, creating, and reshaping jobs.

MODULE 4
Making competition law fit for the digital economy

Explore the specific challenges that technology giants in the digital economy pose to existing competition law.

MODULE 5
Legal responses to cybersecurity threats

Understand vulnerabilities of digital networks and legal frameworks relating to computer misuse and internet fraud.

MODULE 6
Privacy protection in a digital era

Explore how digital technologies pose unique challenges related to privacy protection.

MODULE 7
Digital media and its impact on democracy

Understand how digital media can disrupt the democratic process.

MODULE 8
Global technology competition and international conflict

Understand the global nature of tech innovation and how states compete for technological leadership.

COURSE CONVENOR

Professor Robert Falkner

Professor of International Relations, Department of International Relations, LSE

In addition to his professorial role, Robert serves as Academic Director of the TRIUM Global Executive MBA, an alliance between LSE, NYU Stern School of Business, and HEC Paris. Between 2017 and 2022, he was Research Director of LSE’s Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, and is currently a Distinguished Fellow of the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on global environmental politics and international political economy, with a particular focus on climate policy and the role of business in international relations.
