Module 5 Management accounting concepts and principles
Gain insight into the costs, efficiency, and profit of a company, and explore how to create a sustainable culture for improved performance.

Module 6 Delegation and control
Explore the delegation of decision-making authority to foster personal and team responsibility among employees.

Module 7 Measuring and incentivising profitability
Explore precisely measuring profit, and set budgets and targets that fit an organisation's risk-reward profile.

Module 8 Incentives, monitoring, and feedback to drive results
Gain insight into how to create systems of incentives, monitoring, and feedback to drive results in an organisation.

COURSE CONVENORS

Dr Saipriya Kamath

Assistant Professor of Accounting, Department of Accounting, LSE

Saipriya Kamath is an assistant professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research interests span taxation, pensions, and corporate governance. Her research, published in the Journal of Banking and Finance, drove a policy change in Indian banking regulations.

Saipriya has also provided impactful, research-driven consulting services to government organisations. She has provided consultation to the European Parliament regarding the incentives of tax intermediaries and their role in tax evasion. She has also provided consultation to the Ministry of Finance, India to support the ministry in initiatives to simplify the tax code and provide tax incentives for encouraging entrepreneurship.

Saipriya teaches undergraduate accounting courses at LSE. She earned her PhD from Indian School of Business in 2016.

Dr Kenneth Lee

Former Convenor; Associate Professorial Lecturer and MSc Programme Director, Department of Accounting, LSE

Kenneth lectures on financial analysis and equity valuation at LSE. Before his career in academia, he was a managing director and head of European Equity Research at Barclays Capital, and a managing director and ranked accounting and valuation analyst at Citi Investment Research in London. During this time, Kenneth published extensively on accounting and valuation topics for investors, and was ranked in the top three in the Institutional Investor Survey for more than 10 years in a row. Kenneth graduated from Trinity College Dublin/Dublin Institute of Technology with a degree in management science, and holds a doctorate from Aston Business School. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a CFA Charterholder, and a member of both the Institute of Taxation and Securities Institute.

Henry Eyring

Former Convenor; Assistant Professor of Accounting, Department of Accounting, LSE

Henry lectures on cost and management accounting systems, as well as management control systems at LSE. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration in accounting and management from Harvard Business School, and a BSc in economics and mathematics from Brigham Young University in Idaho. Henry’s research interests lie in incentive systems, cost management, and the economic effects of disclosure in the public and private sectors. His studies in the area of performance measurement have twice been published in the Journal of Accounting Research. Henry has also presented his work at several high-profile institutions globally, including Stanford University, Cornell University, and the London Business School. In 2018, he was recognised with the LSE Teaching Excellence Award.
